STUDENTS: SELFISH OR SMART?

Recent surveys from the Office of National Statistics have shown that students are both more likely to volunteer and also spend longer per day volunteering than those in paid work.

But it’s not in the way you might think.

Polls made on Twitter show that students are more likely to volunteer to gain valuable work experience, rather than to donate their time to the  less fortunate.

Professor Robin Brown from the Department of Volunteering at the University of Salford commented said they may do it to “bulk out their CVs.”
